All courses are taught by Tavares Davis, a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Certified License to Carry Instructor. With years of firearm safety and practical experience, he brings a calm, professional, and confidence-building approach to every class.
You’ll learn Texas gun laws, use of force, safe firearm handling, marksmanship fundamentals, situational awareness, and the legal responsibilities of carrying a firearm in public. The class combines classroom instruction with a live-fire qualification.
No. You’re welcome to bring your own firearm or use one provided by the instructor for the course. If you’re new to shooting, we’ll guide you on proper firearm selection and handling so you feel confident and comfortable.
The LTC class typically lasts 4 to 6 hours, including classroom instruction, a written test, and a live-fire qualification at the range. We also offer flexible scheduling for private or group sessions.
Bring a valid driver’s license or ID, eye and ear protection, 50 rounds of ammunition, and your handgun (if you have one). We’ll provide all study materials and guidance on what to expect before class day.
Yes. The Texas LTC requires a proficiency test that includes a written exam and a live-fire qualification. Don’t worry—our instruction is designed to prepare you fully. We focus on helping you build confidence and safety skills first.

Once you pass the course, you’ll receive your LTC-100 certificate, which you submit with your online application to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). We’ll walk you through every step of the application and fingerprinting process.
